Model of the Year Competition

This months Model of the Year Competition, 11 people voted on 8 Models.

Blimey I have never seen so many 1/72 models on the table (makes a change from all these 1/48 and 1/35). So may be it is not a surprise that the top slot goes to a 1/72 scale model. So well done to Mr Kevin “vac form” Baxter for his Blackburn Roc. Who got more than twice the number of points than the next man.

I can’t be at the next meeting (Going Quoing) but someone (Julien ?) will collect your votes in and pass them onto me for the final round of this years competition.

So the voting when like this:

1/72 Blackburn Roc *

Kevin Baxter

22 pts

1/48 F 86K Sabre

Brain Wakeman

10 pts

1/35 Humber Scout Car

Bob James

* Goes forward to the Grand Final in January 2010

As for the Scale Modeller of the Year Competition the top scorers are:

 - Aircraft 1/50 - 1/44 =  Kev Baxter extends his lead  to 63 points, with Dom Stevenson in 2nd place with 29 points.

- Aircraft 1/49 - 1/10 = Also Brian Wakeman has extended his lead (144 pts) over George Robinson (77pts).

- Armour 1/50 - 1/144 = We now have a new first and second in this class, Mark Van Osdol in the top slot and Ian Balch just 2 points behind.

- Armour 1/49 - 1/10 = Bob James extends his lead again over Marc Maes to a 19 point gap.

- Ships = Eric Dyke is another one to extend his lead this month from Andrew Duncan.

- Figures = Sonia Maes extends her lead (I’m starting to sound like a stuck record now) so well done to her.

- Civilian Vehicles = The Song Remains the Same (thanks Led Zeppelin) here, Dave Farrow still leads with 3 points.

- Sci Fi / Fantasy / Misc = Again no change here either, Chris Smithers still leads from Andrew Duncan by 1 point.
